We will be back in the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area again this summer, basing our race out of the Blueberry Hill Inn in Goshen, VT. Anyone who raced last year knows just how fabulous this area can be for hiking, biking, swimming, climbing, boating, picking blueberries and swatting horseflies.

The Inn has a small number of rooms available which require a two-night reservation, and they're offering racers a huge discount off their normal prices. Having stayed there ourselves, we highly recommend this option. Blueberry Hill Inn served a fabulous 4 a.m. pre-race breakfast to everyone staying there on Friday night. On Sunday morning, we had another excellent breakfast (at a more pleasant time of day) and an awesome time relaxing, reviewing the course with the racers and designers, and getting to know each other.

Blueberry Hill also offers camping on their property, which includes use of an outdoor shower and pond for bathing, and rest rooms inside the ski center. If you're not going to stay in the cozy rooms at the inn, at least you can roll out of your tent and get to the pre-race briefing quickly. Campers have the option of paying to join us at breakfast either day.

Blueberry Hill special event rates:

  • Single Occupancy Special Event Rate -- $75 per room, plus 9% rooms and meals tax.
  • Double Occupancy Special Event Rate-- $100 per room, plus 9% rooms and meals tax.
  • Additional Guests in a Room- Three of our rooms sleep up to four guests with three beds. Each additional guest per room will be $25 per person, per night, plus tax.

Special Event Weekend Room rates are due upon booking and are non-refundable. Guests staying in the Inn will receive a complimentary buffet breakfast each morning.

Other lodging options include Courtyard Middlebury, Waybury Inn, and Dunmore Acres. Searching on Middlebury, VT, will net some additional options.
