Subject: GMARA: Frigid Infliction updates

Hello racers!

A few announcements to make and some info.

First - an update's been posted to the website - be sure you keep an eye on http://www.gmara.org/frigid/updates.html (This stuff will be there too.)

Second - we're honored to say The Frigid Infliction has been declared a USARA National Championship Qualifier. This means the winners get a spot at Nationals and $400 to help 'em get there.

Third - to smooth out the registration process this year, we've added the USARA membership application and Waiver to the documents page: http://www.gmara.org/frigid/docs.html We'd like every racer to print and fill out both forms, and bring them with you to registration! (If you are already a USARA member, we'll need your ID as proof.)

Fourth - with changes at Bolton, the discounted hotel rate isn't available this year. Because there's no block reserved, if you want a room for the night you should call ASAP. 1-877-9BOLTON There will be camping spots available near the nordic center if you'd prefer that option - $10/tent. We recommend staying on the mountain if you can - the first Frigid saw several teams not make the start because snow kept them from making it back to the mountain in time.

Fifth - if you're planning to rent skis or snowshoes, you will probably want to call ahead as supplies are limited. Snowshoes can also be rented from EMS stores (GMARA members rent for free, plug plug). Bolton rentals - same number as above, 1-877-9BOLTON.

Last but not least - the team listing is available at http://www.gmara.org/frigid/teams.shtml. Some fun stats - 24 teams so far from 8 states and 1 province. With the early registration deadline looming, new teams are coming in every day. Chances are good to see a full 40 teams on race day!

Don't hesitate to ask questions, and expect to hear more in the next few weeks - we've got a title sponsor in the works, and you just know I'm going to come up with more things to say.
