Race Results
Our inaugural winter adventure race was a fantastic experience. Racers were treated to a course with well over two feet of fresh powder that had started to fall before registration and didn't stop until well after the race had ended. It made for a spectacular winter adventure as racers fought their way through drifts as high as five feet and had icicles almost as long hanging from their hair.

The course started with racers postholing (no snowshoes) to checkpoint 1. They then donned their snowshoes and proceded through a series of CPs that became more remote as they went. They reached the first manned checkpoint, transition area one, and donned their skis, making their way down the mountain to the tyrolean traverse at CP 7. They crossed Joiner Brook, got back into their skis, and then skied to CPs 8, 9, 10, and 11 before heading to the finish line.

Here's an image of the elevation profile. All teams will have travelled significantly further than this indicates, but it will give you a fairly good idea of your elevation gain over time.

It's always rewarding as a race director to watch teams make their way through the challenges that the designers have laid out. This race was very special since every single team had smiles on their faces when I saw them, whether it was at the tyrolean or coming into the finish area. Thanks to everyone; racers, volunteers, our sponsors, the ropes crew from the Bolton Adventure Center, and the Bolton Valley Resort, for a most enjoyable experience.
